December 2016: Club members get chilly at our annual Frostbite competition

On 10 December members braved the cold (well, mild) air and took part in the annual Frostbite competition. A great time was had by all and well done to our winners!

November 2016: Welcome to our new indoor shooting venue!

This month club members move into our new indoor venue - the new sports hall at Rickmansworth school. With such a fantastic venue, members can keep their practice up at those long distances!










October 2016: Well done to all who achieved their classifications!

At this year's Annual General Meeting members our Records Officer was privileged to present archers with this year’s club Classification Badges. 13 club members submitted at least 3 qualifying scores with the following achievements:

3rd Class:

Ethan Lashley (Gents U14 Recurve); James Mooney (Gents U16 Barebow); Becky Short (Ladies Recurve); Andrew Lashley (Gents Recurve); Pav Bansel (Gents Recurve)

2nd Class:

Clive Mulligan (Gents Recurve); Manish Popli (Gents Recurve)

Club Frostbite shoot - 10 December 2016 at 11.30am

This year the club will hold a Frostbite competition on Saturday 10th December at 11.30am.

The Frostbite is a informal and fun competition, that's great for beginners who want to experience shooting under competition rules.

There's plenty of awards to win, and also hot soup and rolls to keep us warm!

October 2016: Changes to club shooting times

As part of the Club's user contract with Rickmansworth School, our shooting times on Sundays will need to be changed in order to accommodate use of the field by a football club in September and October.

From 4 September to the end of the outdoor season, Sunday shooting will take place from 2.00pm to 4.30pm


October 2016: Club seeking to expand its number of field captains

The club is looking for senior members to volunteer as Field Captain for our regular shoots on a rota basis. This important role is more than just blowing the whistle - it will help to keep the shoot moving and keep our club members safe. June 2016: Rickmansworth Archery Club taking part in This Girl Can in Herts Week 2016!

This Girl Can in Herts Week involves a week of events and activities to inspire and encourage women and girls to be more active.

On Sunday 12 June between 1pm and 4pm, the club will be opening its doors to all ladies and girls aged 8 and above who want to come and have a go at archery! No experience needed, just enthusiasm to give it a try!


June 2016: Rickmansworth Archery Club taking part in Archery GB's Big Weekend!

The club is looking forward to taking part in Archery GB's Big Weekend, and will be opening its doors to the public on 5th June from 1.00pm to 4.30pm at Rickmansworth School. Everyone aged 9 and above can come and have a go for free. Pick up a bow and try archery alongside your family and friends! View our poster here.


May 2016: Club members get involved in Rickmansworth Waterways Festival

A group of our members had a great two days at Rickmansworth festival, meeting new people and spreading the word about archery.

Club hot dog and BBQ shoot dates now available!

Calling all BBQ lovers! Each month the club will have either a 'hot dog' shoot, or BBQ shoot, where club members are invited to stay on after the shoot to have a bite to eat with other members. For dates see the Club calendar.


Club competition dates now available!

Each month we will hold a club competition for Members. We will alternate between Warwick and National rounds each month. A great chance to practice and test yourself in an informal environment! For dates see the Club calendar.


We have moved!

Rickmansworth Archery Club says a fond farewell to its old venues and hello to Rickmansworth School! Both indoor and outdoor shoots this year will be held at this fantastic venue. For details on how to get to the school, follow this link.
